Drone Tag BS Module
Website: https://dronetag.cz/products/bs/
Pros: Very small, designed for FPV and model aircraft pilots, meets EU Remote ID standards, upgradable firmware.
Cons: External antennas, harder to get in the US.
The Drone Tag BS was specifically designed for FPV and model aircraft pilots to meet the remote ID requirements of the FAA and EU with as little disruption to your aircraft as possible. The result is a very tiny module that should fit in even the smallest aircraft that needs to be remote ID compliant, weighing only 1g ( or 1.2g with antennas ).
While you can power it from an external battery, the better option is to power it from your drone so it will automatically power up every time you fly. While it does not have the widest input voltage range, it can handle 3.3 to 17 volts ( 1s to 4s ). It also has a super supercapacitor which allows it to retain GPS information without being powered up for 7 minutes. Enough for you to swap batteries between flights.
This module also stores your GPS data so you can later export CSV or KML files and visualize them in the Dronetag app as well as pass the data to betaflight as a GNSS input so you can see GPS in your OSD etc.
Purchasing a Drone Tag BS in the US is a little harder compared to other modules as it is not sold in the usual FPV stores and needs to be ordered from Drone Tag in the Czech Republic.
