FAA Part 107

Are you planning to fly for any reason other than the pure fun of it? If so, then you will need to pass the FAA part 107 test and obtain your remote pilot certificate.

One common misconception is that you only need a part 107 certificate if you are getting paid to fly. However that is not the case. According to the FAA if the intent of the flight is anything other than flying for fun, you need a part 107. That would include things like flying for a non profit organization, taking pictures of your friends house for their listing, or flying a drone to make a review video for your YouTube channel. In all of those cases you are flying for a reason other than the fun of it.

We are happy to announce that the FPV Freedom Coalition is partnering up with Pilot Institute as a leading provider of training for the growing drone community. Their online courses are geared to help you get the information you need to understand the regulations and into the air safely.  Courses are available for both drones and full-size airplanes to help bridge the gap between the different segments in aviation. Pilot Institute backs their training with a guarantee that users will pass the test the first time.   The Pilot Institute offers dozens of courses for drone users, many of which are low cost or even free!

We at the FPVFC feel that the Pilot Institute is the best resource for pilots to gain the knowledge to successfully take to the skies, whether for recreational or for commercial operations.

If you sign up for a Pilot Institute course using the following affiliate link, a portion of the cost will be shared with the FPV Freedom Coalition.
